A fortnight is a long time in this BOIDC season. This time two weeks ago Bathurst City and Rugby Union were in first and second position respectively. A fortnight later they have dropped to 5th and 6th, such is the closeness of this season’s competition.

At Bathurst Sportsground, Orange City declared at their overnight scored of 7-269. After losing opener, Trent Fitzpatrick with 21 runs on the board, Hugh Taylor and Kobe Muir combined to take the score to 105 before Taylor was out for 78. Ed Morrish then removed Muir a short while later before Ruben Newton and Tanvir Singh added 101 to take the Rugby total to 210 before Lawson Hamling caught Singh off his own bowling for 47.

The momentum of the match started to swing in Orange City’s favour as Hamling and Morrish took 4 further wickets between then to have Rugby 8 wickets down and still 37 runs behind. Number 10 Aquinder Dhillon scored a quick 30 to get his team to within 6 runs of victory before Shaun Grenfell took the 2 remaining wickets to seal the win for Orange City.
